She also has three older sisters who used to sing and dance, her two brothers used to practise Hip Hop and Breakdance.
She started to play the piano at the age of 7 and got graduated at the Conservatoire de Toulouse with honours at 18 years old. The passion for singing came later as she won her first singing competition at the age of 12 years old. Alicia Keys has also influenced her in the way she writes songs, her fashion and the way she always empower women. Beyoncé has inspired her to become a better performer overall and to increase her work ethic to perfect her craft all the time.
The skills she earned as a musician allowed her to naturally transition to the production territory at 13 years old. She has always been inspired by the some of the greatest producers in history of music such as Rodney Jerkins, Scott Storch, Timbaland, Stargate, Pharrell Williams and more. Molly J always inspired to have control of her own music, as her creativity keeps growing throughout her studies and musical discoveries.
At the age of 15, she made her TV debuts as she starred in the TV Show series “Le Grand Show des Enfants” hosted by the French singer Liane Foly. It has been broadcasted on the national channel TF1 and has been seen by more than 4 millions viewers. At 17 years old, she participated as a candidate in the French version of Pop Idol, and finished finalist of this TV show.
From her experiences in gospel concerts with famous groups like Vocal Colors and Gospel Walk, to her collaborations in the French music industry (two singles played several times in National Radios), Molly J developped her own musical identity and played her first solo concert in Saint Cirques Madelon for the music festival Happy Days Music. She was a member of a Pop/R&B girl band named "New Faith", and it has been another opportunity for her to bring a massive contribution as she co-written and co-produced most of the girl band songs including their debut single "Mine" which is a sample of the famous hit "The Boy Is Mine" by Brandy and Monica, released the 25th of July 2019. It has caught the attention of Rodney Jerkins, as his team and the songwriters gave New Faith their permission to use the sample. In addition, she arranged all of the covers, harmonies and live performances of the group. Having gained amazing experience, she decided to leave the group while improving her songwriting skills.
Embarking recently on a solo career, she has released her debut single featuring Omo Frenchie entitled "La Best", and the video has surpassed over 10 000 views in less than 2 months. She has also made her biggest stage performance in London at the Indigo O2 as a supporting act for the famous French singer TAYC.
Recently, she has released a new solo single entitled Thing For Love, which is a track that combines the 90s R&B genre and Drill production together. She is currently finalising her EP entitled Rediscovery which will be released this Summer.
From being a classically trained pianist, to becoming a singer and performer that has been influenced by international musical genres (Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Classical, Opera, Pop, Kpop, Congolese music, Afrobeat and more), Molly J is the definition of versatility and has potential to become one of the greatest forces to be reckoned with in the music industry today.
